Global banking giant HSBC will cut 330 jobs in Britain thanks to ' the very challenging economic environment '.

The job losses will mainly come from the commercial banking arm of HSBC in Great Britain, Xinhua reported.

The bank is also jobs in retail banking, asset management and technology services shedding.

' Everything has posted affected employees support and deploy of so many people as possible within the bank, "said Joe Garner, a senior official of the HSBC.

Britain's largest trade union Unite said the job cuts, announced just three weeks before Christmas, was ' scandalous '.

It would be another 25,000 jobs intersected by 2013, the bank said London headquarters in August.
